Jessica Needle is a state-licensed naturopathic doctor at Optimal Health Center. She earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from Mills College in Oakland, California, and her doctorate in naturopathic medicine from Bastyr University in Kenmore, Washington.
Doctor Needle’s longstanding interest in human body stems from her participation in athletics as a youth and her work as a personal trainer and yoga instructor. Prior to becoming a naturopath, she gained extensive experience with patients during her work in a chiropractic office performing massage and adjunct physical therapy.
While studying naturopathic medicine, Doctor Needle became interested in the effects of food on health when she rid herself of back pain by changing her diet. This led to a post-graduate internship at TrueNorth Health Center, a medically supervised fasting facility in Santa Rosa, California. There, Doctor Needle learned to guide patients through water and juice fasts to help reverse high blood pressure, inflammatory conditions, and metabolic imbalances.
Doctor Needle’s other work included primary care at Sedona Wellness Retreat where she furthered her skills in nutrition and detoxification while treating patients with cancer and chronic illnesses. She is experienced in using natural methods to help people reduce or eliminate the need for medication.
As a long-time instructor of classes at the recreational, vocational, and undergraduate levels, Doctor Needle values the concept of docere, meaning “doctor as teacher.” She works to address the fundamentals of diet, exercise, sleep, and stress reduction to meet each individual patient’s needs.
Doctor Needle is accepting new patients. Please contact Optimal Health Center to learn more about our services or to schedule an appointment.
